Upper Eyelid Surgery Question from Vermont Patient

Ok we have a common patient question: “I’ve had upper eyelid surgery and the lower lids twice and I’m not happy with the way they look.”
In the lower eyelids, it is essential not to remove too much skin. The lower eyelid is like a hammock that’s supported at the two ends and sags in the middle. If there’s anything that pulls down on the lid, which could be removal of too much skin, scar tissue or just the weight of the cheek, the eyelid can be pulled down. That’s a very unattractive and aging look and can contribute to dryness of the eyes as well. I do see some people who have had their eyelids done with results that indicate a real problem with the position of the lower eyelid. The treatment for them is not to redo the same procedure but to do a different procedure to raise and support the lower eyelid. That can be done effectively and successfully for those who need it.
