Lower Eyelid by Dr. David Metzner

A question people often ask is, “what’s the perfect age to have eyelid surgery”? That’s going to vary from person to person. It’s really when you look in the mirror and you see changes that you are not happy with. When you see yourself, using your fingers to reposition tissues higher or further back, what you’re telling yourself is, “it’s time to do something”. In the early stages of facial aging, a non-surgical approach using one of the fillers such as Juvéderm® or Restylane® to fill in the lines and circles may be sufficient. That’s an office procedure that works quite well if the circles aren’t very deep. The benefit is temporary, lasting 6 to 12 months, and needs to be repeated, but it’s certainly something to do in a young person or a person who is not yet ready for surgery. Botox® is very effective for frown lines and crows-feet. I use it myself.
